Able Planet is known for its noise canceling headphones and this year at CES 2010 they released two new products to their line. They include a Linx microphone and a pair of gaming headphones. They received four awards for the microphone. 2010 has been a great start for Able Planet.
Recently, their young audience was looking for something small, they could wear under things. That is exactly what they got. Able Planet just keeps expanding as more people are choosing their products. They are even a sponsor at the X-Games.
At CES 2010, Able Planet exhibited in a large booth with lots of eye catching material. Mary Semcken, the Vice President of Marketing remembers when they were just getting started. Years previously, Able Planet had a small booth in the Venetian. Semcken continues to see tremendous results from having a booth at CES. “We grew up at CES,” she explains.
Able Planet offers consumers the opportunity to use headphones on another level. Semcken stated that they want to supply great products, so when they heard the youth wanted earphones, they went to work and eventually developed a great product with a mission for hearing restoration. Even their microphone has bragging rights. “Our microphone is ten times more effective than any other microphone available,” explains Semcken.
Semcken told us that NBC came over to Able Planet’s booth at CES to do an interview with her. They tested Able Planet’s microphone through the interview and loved it so much that they ended up keeping it. Semcken saw NBC later and they were still using it.
In conclusion, Able Planet has come a long way and CES plays a big part in that. Here is a company that has taken advantage of opportunities. They are doing all the right things and in essence, growing tremendously. They have catered to all different audiences including teens, gamers, athletes, and even business professionals. This is a very tough thing to do, but Able Planet shows that it is possible.
P.S. The fact that they can compete with Bose is an inspiration in itself.
Keep up the great work Able Planet!
