This edition of Mixtape Mayhem is brought to you by endless hours of air guitar sessions and tremendous amounts of head bopping. With Lady Gaga and Ke$ha owning the world, I think people forget there are other female artists like Christina Perri and VV Brown who don’t wear meat dresses or trash bags in public and have phenomenal voices.
I loved checking out the bands for Mixtpae Mayhem Vol. 2, so you all need to check them out and download. Be ready for volume 3 to rock your world:
Ratherbright-Sugar (White Lies are Scarlet Letters)– If falling head over heels in love with bands is possible, this band has won over my heart with how amazing they are and I can’t wait until the day the rest of the world sees that because I can’t stop playing this song; hopefully you won’t be able to also.
Christina Perri-Jar of Hearts- This girl’s cover of Coldplay’s “The Scientist” gave me the chills. I’ve always loved this song and she makes me love it even more, If I sang like her I’d sing everything even my grocery shopping list.
Safetysuit-Stay– This is an older song but it’s always a favorite and I’m pretty sad this band hasn’t come out with new stuff lately.
Atomic Tom a Brooklyn-based band that did the smartest thing to get themselves and their latest album noticed; they made a youtube video the entire world is still talking about is nearing 4 million views on Youtube. The band played an entire song using iPhone apps and have created a sensation that other bands are following in their lead. This idea was so genius and I’m sure so many unknown bands are kicking themselves for not thinking of it first.
