Shama Kabani, Social Networking Expert and Not Just a One Book Wonder

Posted on 20 July 2010 by Alex

Shama Kabani was ahead of her time in social media and saw endless opportunities before everyone and their mom did. She was one of the first 900 people registered on Twitter. When she began her venture in social media, businesses thought the whole thing was a fad and found little to no value in the idea of using social media. Boy were they wrong, and good thing Shama kept pursuing her passion in it. Today, Shama owns The Marketing Zen Group, a full service digital marketing firm based in Dallas with a staff of 20. We had to interview the young entrepreneur, so here you go. Enjoy!

Here is the video breakdown

0:20 – Shama’s brief bio
1:00 – What’s The Marketing Zen Group
1:38 – How she get’s customers
4:10 – How to get followers
5:45 – Is there any room for another online marketing company?
8:40 – All about Shama’s book, The Zen of Social Media Marketing
9:22 – Advice for a struggling entrepreneur

Thanks Shama!

Very nice interview. She shows a lot of what can be done if you have the drive inspiration and hard work. Social networking marketing is something that everyone should try to do more of, likely.

It’s very inspiring and refreshing to stumble upon a young, smart, and ambitious woman who knows so much about social media and can now share her knowledge and experience with those looking to follow in those same footsteps. Looking forward to seeing the next wave of innovation for online marketing and advertising. I have high hopes for the new html5 platform and it’s integration with UX technology.
