“Immerz is going to change the world of entertainment,” said Shahriar S. Afshar, the inventor of Immerz’s Kor-FX. He is positive it will happen. Afshar described the device,
“It’s like a sixth sense or a Spidey Sense.” Immerz received a lot of action at CES 2010. Afshar stated that CES is one of the best places to be seen.
Obviously, Afshar and Immerz made the right choice presenting themselves at CES 2010. He explains further, “We became a known brand overnight. It’s a massive footprint for a little money.” Afshar said they have made a lot of deals at CES.
Although Immerz got some great recognition overnight at CES, the actual device took about three years to perfect. Afshar is truly an entrepreneur because he has persevered. This may be his first entrepreneurial venture, but Afshar has stood out in the crowd before. He’s called the Quantum Rebel by many for his work in disproving Niels Bohr’s quantum theory. Afshar’s background in science has been used again in the development of the Kor-FX. He explains, “The device is just not a vibrating machine, but there is science behind it.” He did not get into scientific detail, but he did get into detail about why he even began building such an interesting product.
Let’s flashback before Immerz.
Afshar was a Physics Professor at Rowan University and he was given temporary housing on-campus. There was one big problem during his stay. It was the loud music and shaking of his apartment that he could not put up with. Even after he approached the students who were causing the problem, nothing changed. He explained, “I would get angry and lose focus.” Afshar decided that he needed to find a solution and thus Immerz formed.
He believes in his product, which is the key to one’s success. “Once people start using it, they won’t be able to listen to music or play games without it. It has the addictive factor,” he states.
Afshar offered some great advice to aspiring entrepreneurs and inventors.
- “You must see things ahead of time.”
- “Be super critical of what exists and about assumptions.”
